Recently, we welcomed talented, multi-genre writer Jody T. Morse to the Spider Road Press team. We’re impressed with her varied writings. We asked her to tell us about a book that inspired her…
At ten-years-old, my beloved Grandma Jean gave me one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever received: a small tattered book with well-worn, yellowed pages. The cover read “Angel Unaware by Dale Evans Rogers.” This tiny tome about the death of her young daughter helped shape me into a person of compassion, seeking connection while also harboring a deep-seated belief in the power of words.
Which is how, three decades later, I’m not surprised to find myself working with a small press dedicated to promoting quality writing by and/or about strong women.
My name is Jody T. Morse and I’m a well-traveled, multi-genre writer with a passion for writing words that encourage healing, bridge social gaps and elicit emotion. I look forward to sharing more of my writing and ideas with the Spider Road Press family of readers and writers.
My website is www.bountifulbalconybooks.com. You can find my work in the current issue of ArtHouston magazine, on the Luna Station Quarterly blog site and published by Haiku Journal, as well as in the new Writespace Houston-produced anthology, In Medias Res.
