2018 Spider's Web Flash Fiction Prize

Submissions are officially open for this year's flash fiction contest! We are once again celebrating excellent, unpublished flash fiction featuring a complex, female-identifying protagonist. Our fourth annual contest will recognize unique, well-crafted stories of 750 words or fewer crafted by writers of all genders. Our prize has increased to $300, and we've retained our low entry free so that more writers can participate. Celebrate Women's Words at Our Women's History Month Reading Gathering  

Revel in female-identifying voices at our reading & celebration of Women's History Month. A dozen talented, diverse readers from Texas writing organizations like WiVLA, WITS, Arte Publico Press, Public Poetry, Writespace, and Houston Writers House will be featured. Please join us at EQ Heights coffee and social house from 3-5pm on Sunday, March 11th to support, encourage, and enjoy the strength of our literary community.

We regret that our Birthday Party & Flash Fiction Award Ceremony has been postponed due to Hurricane Harvey and its aftereffects. We will be rescheduling this event for later in the fall, and more information will be forthcoming. Thank you for supporting us and diverse stories.
